Google antitrust case: US govt calls for sale of Chrome browser

The US government has formally asked for a partial breakup of Google.
The Department of Justice urges a federal judge to force the company to sell its Chrome web browser.
In August, ...
after a years-long trial, a federal court ruled the tech giant, is running an illegal monopoly.
The judge said the company had violated US anti-trust laws by requiring smartphone makers to install it as the default search engine.
Google has promised to appeal.
If approved, the penalties could have major implications for big tech firms like Apple, Amazon and Meta.
